Now Performing on The Showboat Branson Belle!

I recently wrapped up the school year as a teacher at four different theatre and dance schools in the Louisville, KY area. I had the opportunity to choreograph Fiddler on the Roof at North Oldham High School and Mary Poppins at The Louisville Creative Arts Academy, as well as teach theatre and dance classes at The Oldham County Schools Arts Center, The Louisville Creative Arts Academy, and DanceWorks in New Albany, IN. I also spent some time substitute teaching elementary school for the Christian Academy of Louisville. I had such a wonderful time getting to know and grow so many students. It was such a great learning experience for me as a teacher and a performer, and I am so grateful to be able to add all of these wonderful jobs to my resume.

I am now back to performing as a feature dancer on the Showboat Branson Belle in Branson, MO! This dinner-cruise style show is a lot of fun, and a great way to gain your sea legs in moderation! The showboat sails around the gorgeous, glassy waters of Table Rock Lake, surrounded by the stunningly green Ozark mountains. Guests are entertained with dinner and top-deck music, magic and comedy acts, and finally the main show to finish out their cruise. This hour-long show consists of classic rock and pop, gospel, and movie-medley music, as well ballroom dance, jazz dance, and a lot of tap dance.

After a two-week long rehearsal process, we just opened our main show on Friday (5/24) and will continue doing one to three shows a day through November 24th. We will also be starting rehearsals for a secondary “Pirates and Princesses” show for our specialty cruises that will show on Sunday mornings during the summer months. In the fall, we will begin rehearsals for our Christmas show, which will take the place of the main show starting in November.

Working for the Showboat Branson Belle has been a blast so far! Rehearsals were very challenging, but I came out a better tap dancer with stronger feet! The cast and crew on the boat are all incredible. The work environment is positive, happy, supportive, and fun. I have never worked with kinder, more caring people in my life. And Branson is an absolutely gorgeous place to live! It’s been only two weeks and I am loving it. I’m so excited for all the performance experience I will gain and memories I will make in these next six months!

When my contract is over in November, I plan to spend the rest of my year in Walt Disney World, picking up some seasonal hours so I can retain my employment as a seasonal cast member. What a great year of performing this will be! God is so good!
